Safety Notice
Identity verification, verification badges, branded caps, proximity tools, and messaging filters are limited features. They do not guarantee safety, background, marital status, honesty, or the outcome of any meeting. Meeting another person in person carries inherent risk. Read the guidance below before using the Platform.
Applies to www.catchmeoffline.com, the Catch Me Offline mobile application, and related dating-service features
These Disclaimers apply to services provided by Catch Me Offline, LLC and supplement the Website Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Subscription Agreement. They also contain CMO's principal dating-safety guidance and explain important limitations of identity verification, member information, proximity tools, messaging, branded caps, in-person meetings, and other features.
Catch Me Offline requires identity verification for membership activation, currently through Veriff. The verification process is intended to compare identity information and a selfie with a government-issued identification document. It does not guarantee that a person will remain the same account user, that identification has not been fraudulently obtained, or that all fraud or impersonation will be detected.
CMO receives a verification result/status and related reference information under the current integration. CMO does not itself receive or retain the underlying government-ID image, selfie image, or underlying facial/biometric analysis.
CMO does not presently perform a criminal-record search, sex-offender-registry search, restraining-order search, employment verification, income verification, social-media investigation, education verification, or comparable background investigation as part of ordinary enrollment. Any safety or eligibility question answered by a user is generally based on the user's representation unless CMO later investigates a report or obtains other information.
Do not interpret the words "verified," "identity verified," a verification badge, a profile, a branded cap, or any similar indicator as meaning that a person passed a background check or has been certified as safe.
CMO does not independently verify that a member is legally unmarried. The Platform may permit persons who are separated or have a divorce pending to describe their relationship status. Members are responsible for providing truthful information and for deciding whether another person's relationship or marital status is acceptable to them.
A Catch Me Offline cap is a branded item and visual identifier only. A member may retain and continue wearing a cap after cancellation or termination. The cap does not establish that the wearer is currently subscribed, currently verified, legally single, free of a criminal history, free of a restraining order, trustworthy, safe, compatible, or endorsed by CMO. Confirm current Platform status through the active application rather than relying on apparel alone.
CMO does not promise or guarantee that you will encounter another member, establish a mutual connection, receive a message, go on a date, find a partner, enter a relationship, marry, or achieve any other personal or romantic result. Relationship outcomes depend on individuals and circumstances outside CMO's control.
Meeting another person in person can involve risks including harassment, stalking, theft, fraud, assault, sexual misconduct, violence, intoxication, transportation incidents, and other physical, financial, emotional, or reputational harm. Identity verification and Platform safety tools do not eliminate those risks.
Use reasonable precautions: meet in public; arrange independent transportation; tell a trusted person where you are going; protect your home, work, financial, and precise-location information; remain in control of food and drinks; do not send money or financial credentials to someone you meet through the Platform; leave if you feel unsafe; and contact emergency services or law enforcement when appropriate.
If enabled, proximity functionality may use precise latitude and longitude processed through MapBox and device location services. The current radius is approximately fifty (50) meters, but location accuracy can vary based on device hardware, GPS conditions, buildings, network conditions, operating-system behavior, and other factors. A proximity indication is not proof that another person is at a precise location, is safe to approach, or wishes to interact.
You may disable location permission through your device settings. Never use the Platform to stalk, follow, surveil, triangulate, threaten, or repeatedly approach another person. CMO does not represent that a location setting, block, or proximity control can prevent all unwanted offline encounters.
Dynamic QR codes and connection controls are intended to support mutual consent. A copied or photographed QR code may expire or become unusable, and a connection may require both active accounts. Nevertheless, CMO cannot guarantee that every QR scan occurs after an in-person meeting, that every user understands the other person's intent, or that consent to connect is consent to any physical, romantic, sexual, financial, or other activity.
Consent to connect or chat may be withdrawn at any time through available remove or block tools. Consent to one interaction is not consent to another interaction.
Private member chat is processed through a third-party messaging provider. Under the current configuration, CMO does not routinely have administrator access to private chat content. Automated profanity or text filtering may block or flag some language, but it will not detect every threat, scam, abusive statement, or policy violation.
If you receive harmful communications, use available block and report tools, preserve relevant evidence, and contact law enforcement or emergency services when appropriate. CMO may need you to provide screenshots or other evidence because it may not have direct access to message content.
A person you meet while wearing or recognizing CMO branding may not be a current member and may never have completed CMO identity verification. If you communicate with a non-member or voluntarily exchange a telephone number, email address, social-media account, home address, workplace, financial information, or other information, those communications and disclosures are outside CMO's control.
CMO is not responsible for monitoring ordinary communications, meetings, transportation, venues, purchases, alcohol or substance use, financial transactions, or other conduct that occurs outside the Platform, except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be disclaimed.
Profile information, relationship status, biographies, photographs, and other user-supplied information may be incomplete, outdated, misleading, or false. A user report is an allegation, not necessarily a proven fact. CMO may investigate reports and take action in its discretion, but does not guarantee a particular investigation, response time, disciplinary result, or notification regarding another member.
CMO relies on third-party providers for identity verification, payments, location/mapping, messaging, SMS verification, hosting, push notifications, crash reporting, app-platform services, and fulfillment. CMO does not control every technical decision, outage, security measure, retention practice, or act or omission of those independent services. Their separate terms and privacy notices may apply.
CMO does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or universally compatible operation of the Website, application, location feature, QR code, messaging, payment system, identity verification, push notifications, or any other technology. Maintenance, third-party outages, operating-system restrictions, device settings, internet failures, and security incidents may affect availability.
CMO support, privacy, reporting, and safety channels are not emergency services and are not monitored as a substitute for 911 or law enforcement. If you believe you or another person is in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service. If you believe a crime has occurred, consider contacting law enforcement and preserving relevant evidence.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you are responsible for your own decisions concerning whom to meet, where to meet, what information to disclose, whether to continue contact, and whether to engage in any relationship or activity. You acknowledge that ordinary dating and in-person social interaction involve risks that cannot be eliminated by an online service.
These Disclaimers do not waive or limit any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived, including rights under California dating-service laws, liability for fraud or willful injury, or other liability that California Civil Code section 1668 or applicable law prohibits from being disclaimed.
Use of the Platform is subject to the Website Terms and Conditions and, for paid members, the Subscription Agreement. For paid members, the Subscription Agreement controls any overlapping mediation or arbitration provision. A timely arbitration opt-out submitted under either the Website Terms and Conditions or the Subscription Agreement will be treated as an opt-out under both documents for that paid membership, subject to applicable law. The applicable documents also preserve small-claims rights and nonwaivable remedies.
